A Welcoming Space
for Every New Muslim

New to the Deen is a project of the Indianapolis Muslim Community Association (IMCA) in Indianapolis — built with love to support anyone beginning their journey in Islam.

The Mission.

We believe that every person who embraces Islam deserves to feel welcomed, supported, and equipped with the knowledge they need to grow in their faith confidently.

New to the Deen was created to bridge the gap that many new Muslims face — the overwhelming feeling of not knowing where to start, or not having someone to guide them through the basics of prayer, purification, fasting, and daily worship.

Our platform provides beautiful, easy-to-follow guides, a supportive mentorship program, and a community of people who understand your journey — because many of us have walked the same path.

Grow at Your Pace — No pressure, no judgment — just guidance and support whenever you're ready.

What We Stand For

Compassion First

We lead with empathy and understanding. Converting to Islam is a major life decision, and we honor that by meeting every person with kindness and patience.

Authentic Knowledge

All our guides and resources are reviewed for accuracy and rooted in the Qur'an and Sunnah, presented in a clear and accessible way for beginners.

Inclusive Community

Islam welcomes everyone. Regardless of your background, ethnicity, or language, you have a place here. Our community celebrates the diversity of the Ummah.

Safe Environment

We provide a judgment-free zone where questions are welcomed, mistakes are understood, and every step forward is celebrated.

Real Connections

Through our mentorship program, we pair new Muslims with experienced brothers and sisters who become lifelong friends and guides.

Continuous Growth

Faith is a journey, not a destination. We provide resources for every stage — from your first prayer to deepening your understanding of the Deen.
